Sealants

Sealants are a thin protective coating of tooth colored bonding material that fill in naturally occurring pits and grooves in teeth that are more prone to forming decay.

By sealing the rough surfaces of permanent molars, it prevents food and bacteria from accumulating and prevents cavities. We recommend sealing the permanent molars once they erupt. The first set of molars come in at around age 6, and the second set around age 12. Sealants are easy, painless, safe, and prevent teeth from needing fillings in the future.
